Organisasi/Lembaga pengetest Antivirus Independen (AV-Test.org) di bulan Maret ini kembali melakukan test terbarunya terhadap 30 Antivirus. Test ini tidak berfokus pada pendeteksian antivirus, tetapi pada malware. Berdasarkan laporannya, di bulan Januari dan Februari tahun 2008 saja, AV-Test.org telah menemukan contoh sekitar 1.1 Juta unik malware yang menyebar di Internet. Sebagai perbandingan di tahun 2005 saja hanya ditemukan sekitar 330.000 dan 972.000 di tahun 2006, sedangkan sampai tahun 2007 ditemukan hampir 5.490.000 malware.
